Got this myself on my phone, as well as it just refused to update. Here's what benefited me.

Edit: this seems to be an issue that Facebook understand. It's a concern with the Facebook application, and not a generalised Play Store issue.

This is what worked for me at least.

  1. Settings > Applications > All > Google Play Store, Clear information as well as Clear cache

  2. Settings > Apps > All > Google Play Solutions > Manage room, Clear all data and also Clear cache


It does not harmed if you reboot your phone prior to you attempt upgrading facebook once again. And, the mount was SLOW. Just at least 4-5 minutes. But, it did work. If not attempt to uninstall it, or simply await a solution.
