Got this myself on my phone, and it simply rejected to update. Below's what benefited me.

Edit: this seems to be a concern that Facebook recognize. It's a problem with the Facebook app, and not a generalised Play Shop concern.

This is what benefited me at the very least.

  1. Settings > Applications > All > Google Play Shop, Clear information as well as Clear cache

  2. Settings > Apps > All > Google Play Services > Manage space, Clear all information as well as Clear cache


It does not injured if you restart your phone prior to you attempt upgrading facebook again. And, the install was SLOW. Simply at least 4-5 minutes. But, it did job. Otherwise try to uninstall it, or simply wait for a repair.
