Got this myself on my phone, as well as it just rejected to upgrade. Below's what benefited me.

Edit: this appears to be an issue that Facebook know. It's a problem with the Facebook application, as well as not a generalised Play Store problem.

This is what benefited me at the very least.

  1. Settings > Apps > All > Google Play Shop, Clear data and Clear cache

  2. Settings > Apps > All > Google Play Provider > Manage room, Clear all data and Clear cache


It does not hurt if you restart your phone before you attempt upgrading facebook once more. And, the mount was SLOW. Simply at least 4-5 mins. Yet, it did job. If not attempt to uninstall it, or simply wait for a fix.
